|Iranian troupe to perform “Author Is Dead” in Italy||
TEHRAN -- The Iranian theater troupe Moj will perform “The Author Is Dead” in Rome, Venice and Bologna in late April.
Italy’s ITC Theater Company invited the troupe to give performances in Milan, Bologna and Rome, actor Ayyub Aqakhani told the Persian service of ILNA.
The play will be directed by Arash Abbasi and Aqakhani with Ladan Mostofi starring in the performances.
The play will go on stage at the Bologna on April 24. The next stop for the play will be Venice’s Teatro Della Murata, which will host the performance on April 25, he said.
Afterward, the play will go on stage at the Salauno Teatro in Rome on April 27.
The play is about a talented film actress named Leila, who wants to direct her first film based on a script written by Farhad.
Leila and Farhad arrange a meeting to discuss the project and through their debates, they discover hidden truths about their lives.
Written by Arash Abbasi, the play was staged in January 2013 at the Sayeh Hall of Tehran’s City Theater Complex where it was warmly welcomed by audiences.
The Italian cultural attaché to Tehran Carlo Cereti watched the play during public performances in January 2014 and said that he would try to make arrangements for the play to be performed in Italy as well.
