“The Sorrow of Belgium” appears in Persian
TEHRAN – A Persian translation of “The Sorrow of Belgium” by the Belgian author Hugo Claus (1929–2008) has been published in Iran.
The novel tells the story of Claus’ alter ego Louis Seynaeve.
The book was translated into Persian by Samgis Zandi and Amut Publications has released the book.
Autobiography of Malala Yousafzai published in Iran
TEHRAN -- The autobiography of the young Pakistani student and education activist Malala Yousafzai has been translated into Persian.
Entitled “I Am Malala”, the book was translated into Persian by Hanieh Chupani and and released by Negah Publications.
When the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley in Pakistan, Malala Yousafzai refused to be silenced and fought for her right to an education.
On October 9, 2012, the 15-year-old Malala was shot in the head at point-blank range while riding the bus home from school and few expected her to survive.
Raphael Minaskanian to perform classical compositions at Vahdat Hall
TEHRAN – The prominent Iranian pianist Raphael Minaskanian will perform classical music selections in a concert at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on May 23.
He will perform pieces by Chopin, Schubert and Beethoven during his concert.
Center for teaching Persian language opens in Muscat
MUSCAT -- A center for teaching the Persian language has opened in Muscat, the Iranian ambassador to Oman said on Sunday.
Both Omanis and expatriates can apply, Ali-Akbar Sibeveih told the Times of Oman, noting that 60 people have registered.
After the completion of the courses, students will receive a certificate approved by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, one of the top universities in Iran.
