|“White Lake” wins best film award at Azerbaijani festival||
TEHRAN – Iranian director Mehdi Heidari’s “White Lake” won the best film award in the international section of the 6th Azerbaijani Family Film Festival.
Since Heidari was not able to attend the festival, a representative of the Iranian Embassy in Baku accepted the award during the closing ceremony at the Nizami Cinema Center on May 22, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Saturday.
The film is about the life of an elderly couple who remains near the dried up Urmia Lake, in the desolate environment of an immense salt desert.
The festival is organized annually by the Haydar Aliyev Foundation, the State Committee for Family and Child Affairs, and the UN Population Fund.
