|“Three Piglets” to compete in Chinese puppetry festival||
TEHRAN – The Iranian puppet show “Three Piglets” will go on stage at the 1st Asia-Pacific International Puppetry Festival, which will be running from June 1 to 7 in Nanchong, China.
Puppeteers from the Asia-Pacific region and other countries including Australia, France, Canada, India and Indonesia will be attending the first edition of the festival, director Afsaneh Zamani told the Persian service of ISNA on Wednesday.
The play tells the story of three piglets that are making a house to keep away from the wolf. Two children named Nana and Dada decide to help the piglets.
Afsaneh Zamani, Peyman Shariati and Aryan Shariati are the main cast members for the play. Stage designer Sina Yeylaq-Beigi is also collaborating with the troupe.
A number of performances, exhibitions and lectures have been arranged during the festival, while a theater market will also be open on the sidelines to offer works by the participating troupes.
The festival has been organized by the Asia-Pacific Commission of UNIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette) together with UNIMA China.
