TEHRAN -- The Iranian theater troupe Moj, which is led by director/playwright Arash Abbasi, is scheduled to perform “The Author Is Dead” in Tehran again.

The play will go on stage at the Shams Hall of the Economic Cooperation Organization’s Cultural Institute from June 22 to July 7.

“The Author Is Dead” is about a talented film actress named Leila, who wants to direct her first film based on a script written by Farhad.

Leila and Farhad arrange a meeting to discuss the project and through their debates, they discover hidden truths about their lives.

Ayyub Aqakhani and Ladan Mostofi will star in the play. The troupe performed the play in Rome, Venice and Bologna during April 2014.

It was previously staged during the 31st Fajr International Theater Festival at Tehran’s City Theater Complex in January 2013. The play was warmly welcomed by theatergoers during the event.
