|“Three Piglets” honored at Chinese festival||
TEHRAN -- The Iranian puppet show “Three Piglets” received an honorary diploma at the 1st Asia-Pacific International Puppetry Festival, which was held from June 1 to 7 in Nanchong, China.
Directed by Afsaneh Zamani, the play tells the story of three piglets that are making a house to keep away from the wolf. Two children named Nana and Dada decide to help the piglets.
“Three Piglets” was performed by puppeteers Afsaneh Zamani, Peyman Shariati and Aryan Shariati. Stage designer Sina Yeylaq-Beigi is also collaborating with the troupe.
The Chinese puppet show “Malan Flower” was picked as the best play at the festival. The show is a puppet pantomime produced by the Hunan Preservation and Heritage Center for Puppetry and Shadow Arts.
Puppeteers from countries in the Asia-Pacific region and France, Canada, India and Indonesia participated in the festival.
A number of performances, exhibitions and lectures were arranged on the sidelines of the festival.
