|14 movie theaters to open at Tehran complex||
One of the movie theaters has been constructed exclusively for children with seats designed for children, the cinematic director of the complex Shahab Razavian said in a press conference on Tuesday.
The movie theaters with a total of 2800 seats are due to be officially inaugurated on July 29.
A kindergarten has also been established in the complex to take care of children while their parents are watching movies, he added.
The movie theaters are named after the halls that once existed on Tehran’s Lalezar Street, which was Iran’s Broadway during 1950s and 1960s.
The largest movie theater is named Grand Cinema, and Crystal, Alborz, Homa, Taban, Metropol and Venus are the names of some of the other movie theaters, Razavian said.
Razavian added that there are plans to screen foreign films in these halls, while one movie theater will be dedicated to screening films that are evocative of the good old days.
A movie theater will be dedicated to short films, documentaries and animation, while there is also a cinematheque in the complex, he said.
The huge complex is under construction by several Iranian private sectors and will contain shops, restaurants, theaters and funfair.
