TEHRAN -- The director of the anti-Zionist movie “The Saturday Hunter”, Parviz Sheikhtadi, plans to make his new film on Salafi-Takfiris, so-called Muslims who accuse other Muslims of apostasy.
He has recently completed the screenplay for the film entitled “The Emperor of Hell”, the Persian service of MNA reported on Sunday.
“I spent one year researching for the writing of the screenplay and it took six months for me to write the script,” Sheikhtadi said.
“‘The Emperor of Hell’ depicts the distorted thoughts of a mufti and it also wants to show how the thoughts of such persons could be hazardous to the infrastructure of the Islamic world,” he added.
“The film wants to show what went wrong in the Islamic world that allowed such a situation to arise,” he stated.
Sheikhtadi said that making the film will cost forty billion rials (over $1 million) and added the Iran Cinema Organization has agreed to cover part of the sum.
Sheikhtadi’s “The Saturday Hunter” was acclaimed at Iranian film festivals. The film narrates a story about a Jewish widow who marries a Christian man. The grandfather of her son asks her to bring his grandson to spend a short time with him, after which the boy can decide whether to stay with his mother or his grandfather.
