Vocalist Abdolhossein Mokhtabad performed a concert entitled “Unison with You” at Tehran’s Milad Tower on Sunday night to raise funds for Gazan children, who have been a prime target for Israeli airstrikes over the past month.
“Holding this concert is a protest against the killing of human beings,” Mokhtabad said during a press conference on Saturday.
He performed “Look at the Street behind the Window”, based on a poem by Ahmad Shamlu, and other memorable songs during the concert.
Mokhtabad, who is also a member of the Tehran City Council, will go on stage tonight again to reprise the concert, which has been organized jointly by the council and the Tehran Municipality.
The concert is scheduled to be performed in other Iranian cities during November.
In addition, Mokhtabad said that he is planning concert tours in the U.S. and Canada, but did not mention any more details for the concerts.
