|Iran to establish college for Iranian Islamic arts||
TEHRAN – Iran plans to establish a college for Iranian Islamic arts, the director of the Art and Architecture Committee of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution said on Saturday.
The Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has recently passed the charter of the college and the plan for the establishment of the college is in the final stage, Mohammad-Hossein Imani-Khoshkhu told the Persian service of MNA.
The college is scheduled to hold courses on illumination (tazhib), miniature painting, calligraphy and several other forms of art.
“Veteran art masters and scholars will teach the enthusiastic students at the college,” said Imani-Khoshkhu, who is also the president Tehran’s University of Science and Culture.
The proposal for the establishment of the college was made by master miniaturist Mahmud Farshchian three years ago during his visit to the secretary of the council, Mohammadreza Mokhber Dezfuli.
The college will work under supervision of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR).
