 TEHRAN – A Vietnamese version of a collection of Persian classic poetry is now available in the country.
Entitled “Tho Co Batu”, the book includes poems composed by Rudaki, Ferdowsi, Khayyam, Attar, Rumi, Baba Taher, Naser Khosro, Anvari, Sadi, Hafez, Jami, Sanaii and Ghaznavi.
The poetry was translated into Vietnamese by Thai Ba Tan and Iran’s ambassador to Vietnam Seyyed Javad Qavam-Shahidi has written a preface to the book.
In the preface, he pointed to the delicacy of Persian poetry and its different styles in different historical eras and also stressed on the impact of Persian literature on the culture and literature of China, India, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The book was published by the Iranian cultural attaché’s office in Vietnam.
