TEHRAN – The first film festival of bread under the title “Festival of Blessings” will be held in Tehran in autumn. “Festival of Blessings” aims to introduce the significance of production and consumption of bread, and the reverence paid to bread in Persian culture, all depicted through the medium of cinema, organizers announced on Saturday. Films, animations, documentaries and short films with the central theme of wheat and bread are expected to take part in the festival. Acknowledging the cultural and spiritual aspects of bread, emphasizing the position of wheat and bread in the international arena, showcasing artistic works related to the production, distribution and consumption of bread, and highlighting the connection of cinema with the bread industry are among the major goals of organizing the festival. Organizers have also dedicated a special section to new ideas and original screenplays..
