TEHRAN -- The Rudaki Symphony Orchestra is due to resume work soon after the month of Ramadan, following the resignation of director of the orchestra Mohammad Haqgu and replacement of conductor Arash Amini.

In a report published by the Persian service of MNA last week, the Rudaki Symphony Orchestra was shut down due to financial issues and no official comment was made after the report was published.

And now Amini, who lead the orchestra in its opening ceremony performances on June 20 and 21, is expected to collaborate as new director of the orchestra in the coming season.

The orchestra is due to begin rehearsals after the month of Ramadan and is expected to give several performances on the commemoration ceremony of Rudaki in December and at the 27th Fajr International Music Festival.

The Rudaki Orchestra was established in February by the Rudaki Foundation, a nongovernmental artistic and cultural institution.

Swiss conductor Emmanuel Siffert, who has led several prominent orchestras around the world, previously announced his willingness to conduct the Rudaki Symphony Orchestra..
