TEHRAN
-- Iranian musicians Peyman and Puyan Nasehpur are currently in Amsterdam to hold workshops at the Atlas Academy.

The workshops are part of program that will be held from August 22 to September 3, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Saturday.

Peyman is scheduled to discuss the Iranian percussion instruments daf and tombak, and Puyan will lecture on santur, a Persian musical instrument resembling a dulcimer.

They will also perform a duet on the sidelines of their workshops.

Many other musicians and groups from other countries will be participating in the program, which has been organized by the Atlas Ensemble.

The Atlas Academy is a laboratory for the creation of innovative intercultural music.

The Cologne-based musician Peyman Nasehpur has previously held many programs and workshops in academic centers in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne in promotion of Persian traditional music.
