| Iranian pop stars reprise Mohammad Nuri’s songs |

TEHRAN -- Iranian pop stars honored the deceased solo tenor singer Mohammad Nuri by reprising his songs during a ceremony at the Milad Tower.
Pop singers Khashayar Etemadi, Reza Yazdani, Mani Rahnama, Hooman Javid and Ali Tafreshi attended the Mohammad Nuri commemoration event on Saturday.
The program began by screening a video clip that included extracts from Nuri’s performances as well as an interview conducted by Mohammad Sarir while he was driving a car.
Later on, Ali Tafreshi appeared on stage and performed “The Most Pleasant” piece. The lyrics for the piece were written by renowned poet Fereydun Moshiri and the music composed Mohammad Sarir.
Then Reza Yazdani performed the memorable piece “Journey for Homeland” whose lyrics were composed by Nader Ebrahimi. He performed the selection along with another piece “Long Journey” in his own style.
Renowned pop singer Mani Rahnama performed “Farewell” composed by Mohammad Sarir, the lyrics for the piece written by Fereydun Moshiri.
Next was Hooman Javid with the celebrated piece “Shepherd”. The piece was composed by Fariborz Lachini.
Khashayar Etemadi performed “Wishes” at the ceremony while he was playing piano. The piece was composed by Mohammad Sarir.
“Seashore Silence”, “If you came”, “Oh, Homeland”, “Maryam” and “Iran” were some of the selections sung by the singers. All the songs were accompanied by an orchestra conducted by Loris Hovian
In the second part, the executive director of the ceremony Mehran Farhadi said that few artists have fans in different generations and Mohammad Nuri is one of them.
After that, Mohammad Sarir spoke briefly about Nuri and conducted the orchestra to perform “Song with Love” which was sung by Hooman Javid and Mani Rahnama.
The Institute for Promotion of Contemporary Arts, Iran’s Bank Melli, and the Rudaki Foundation were the sponsors of the event.
