| Iranian photographer displaying works at Tashkent exhibit |

TEHRAN -- The Tashkent House of Photography is playing host to the exhibition “Uzbekistan in the Eyes of Foreigners” that is displaying photos by 300 foreign photographers including an Iranian. A collection of 12 photos by Iranian photographer Kaveh Baghdadchi taken during his brief stopovers in several cities across Uzbekistan are on display at the exhibit which opened on Friday, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Friday. Tashkent Kukuldash Madrassa, Registan Square, and Statue of Amir Timur in Samarkand, carpet-weaving girls and wedding ceremonies are among the topics on show by Baghdadchi. Jalaliddin Mirtajiev, chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art Academy, who was attending the opening ceremony on Friday, regarded the exhibit as being of great interest to the world and to Uzbekistan and its people. Looking at the photos, a visitor can hardy believe the photos were taken by foreigners; they feature our cities, streets, neighborhood and relatives, he said. Photographers from different countries including Belgium, Argentina, China, Malaysia, France, Japan and Portugal are displaying their works at the exhibit which will be running until September 15..
