| 27 Iranian films line up for APSAs |

TEHRAN -- Twenty-seven Iranian films are among the 240 entries from 43 countries vying for nomination in various sections at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. The feature-length lineup includes “Nader and Simin, a Separation” (directed by Asgahr Farhadi), “A Cube of Sugar” (Reza Mirkarimi), “Here without Me” (Bahram Tavakkoli), “Final Whistle” (Niki Karimi), “Goodbye” (Mohammad Rasoulof) and several others. “Passion of Charlie” (Alireza Sa’adatnia) and “Heaven Is Here” (Hamid Salimian) have been accepted in the children’s film section and “Heart of Simorgh” (Vahid Nasirian) will be screening at the animated film section. “Perhaps Tomorrow” (Ramtin Lavafipur), “Black Box” (Mohammadreza Eslamlu), “21 Days and Me” (Shirin Barqnavard), “Amin” (Shahin Parhami) and “Moving Up” (Loqman Khaledi) are the entries in the documentary film section. This year’s event marks its fifth year with the strongest competition to date. APSA Artistic Director Maxine Williamson announced today that 240 films from 43 countries would compete in this year’s APSAs, including for the first time films from Samoa and Cyprus. APSA nominees will be announced in October and the winners will be announced at the annual APSA Ceremony on Australia’s Gold Coast on November 24..
