TEHRAN
-- The first Iranian museum of printing history was inaugurated during a ceremony at the venue of The Majlis Library, Museum, and Documentation Center in Tehran on Sunday.

The opening ceremony of the Museum of Iranian Printing History was attended by the director of the center Rasul Jafarian, the head of the printing office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance Yusef Afrash and several officials and activists in printing.

At the ceremony, eleven printing veterans who donated their printing presses to the museum were honored.

In the two most recent decades, officials have forgotten the printing industry and many presses were sold to scrap dealers, one of the veterans of the printing industry in Iran Esmaeil Damirchi lamented.

He said that the establishment of the museum would be a great help for students of printing and visitors to get acquainted with the different stages of printing.

Another printing industry veteran Mahmud Kalari asked for allocating a special budget for development of the museum by the Majlis.
