Iran’s “Bitter Milk” to compete in One Country One Film festival

c_250_165_16777215_0___images_stories_pics_july_16_mms11.jpgTEHRAN -- The Iranian short film “Bitter Milk”, on the tragedy of an Afghan refugee family, has been selected for the competition section of One Country One Film, a French film festival that will take place in Apchat, France from July 29 to 31. 

The film is about the Aziz family and the many people of Afghanistan that have become displaced as a result of the war. In order to earn a living and after much suffering, the Aziz family along with other Afghan families decide to go to the Pakistani border with their infants.

Directed by Nasser Zamiri, the film was produced by the Khorasan Razavi Art Bureau.

Zamiri’s credits also include “Sky Without a Passport”, “A Cozy Place for Fish”, “Lullaby for Wakefulness” and “Third Person Singular”.

The One Country One Film festival is under the patronage of Christophe Vacher, a French artist who won an Emmy Award in 2011 for his color and lighting design for the TV show “Transformers Prime”. He also received a nomination at the 2010 Annie Awards for his art direction for the movie “9”, produced by Tim Burton.
