 TEHRAN - Asghar Farhadi’s blockbuster “Nader and Simin, a Separation” is still nabbing awards at international festivals. The film scooped a Golden Arena for the best film at the Pula Film Festival in Croatia.
The film, about a marital breakdown set against a backdrop of social and family turmoil, was selected as the best film out of 21 films screened at the festival, which was held from July 9 to 23.
This award is the third that “Nader and Simin” has received in July 2011. The film won the grand prix of Armenia’s Golden Apricot and St. Petersburg International Film Festival Kinoforum.
“Nader and Simin” won a Golden Bear for best film at the Berlin film festival and its cast ensemble received best actor and actress Silver Bears at the event.
The international awards and good reviews the film has received present the opportunity for “Nader and Simin” to be a well-received hit in box offices in different countries.
The film is currently being shown in Belgium, and Thailand. It will go on screen in the Netherlands from August 11 and Swiss theaters will screen the film from September 8.
The film premieres in Italy and Norway from December 25 and the Brazilian theaters will host the film screening from January 6, 2012.
