TEHRAN – A number of university and basiji seminary students held a demonstration outside the French Embassy in Tehran on Sunday to condemn the French magazine that recently published a cartoon of Prophet Muhammad (S).
The magazine fueled the anger of the world’s Muslims, who had already been incensed at a U.S. film insulting the Prophet (S).
The demonstrators chanted various slogans, including “Yes to Prophet Muhammad (S)” and “Down with France”.
West should revise its approach toward acts of sacrilege: Larijani
Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday that the United States and other Western countries should revise their approach toward acts of sacrilege against Islam as soon as possible.
Speaking during an open session of the Majlis, Larijani stated that the West showed the greatest disrespect for freedom through condoning the recent blasphemous acts under the pretext of advocating freedom of speech.
He went on to say that Western countries have made some miscalculations in regard to the world’s Muslims and will realize the depth of the hatred of Muslims in the future.
