 TEHRAN – Iran’s supervisory board for the media voted on Wednesday to close the Sharq newspaper for publishing a controversial cartoon.
The cartoon had provoked a reaction among some officials, MPs, and student unions.
A ruling has also been issued for the arrest of the newspaper’s managing director.
