TEHRAN -- Iran has achieved great strategic technological advances, enabling it to monitor the movements of U.S. aircraft carriers every second, the commander of the Iranian Navy announced on Monday.
Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari made the remarks as he was enumerating the achievements made by the Navy at the strategic level.
“In various areas, great changes have taken place… and many successes have been achieved, so that today, for example, the Navy monitors U.S. aircraft carriers instant by instant,” he told a gathering of Navy commanders.
In order to be able to materialize the goals of the Supreme Leader, “our training should be commensurate with the threats,” he added.
He also said Iran should increase its presence on the high seas.
It is necessary to counter the enemies’ soft war as well as their economic pressure and cultural onslaught, he noted.
He went on to say that after the enemy reached an impasse in its plots against the country, they began seeking to create a division between the people and the system through economic pressure, “but our nation is vigilant and the tricks of the enemies in these areas are also ineffective.”
At this juncture, “we should indentify economic vulnerabilities” and address them, he stated.
