TEHRAN -- Two award-winning Iranian films “Parviz” and “Taboor” will go on screen at the 31st Fajr International Film Festival.
The films will be shown in the Festival of Festivals, a noncompetitive section of the event, which be held in Tehran from January 31 until February 11, organizers announce on Sunday.
Directed by Majid Barzegar, “Parviz” is about a man in his fifties who has lived his entire life in his father’s home and has never held a job. His quiet routine suddenly comes apart when his father decides to remarry and tells him to move out.
The film received a special mention at the 60th San Sebastian International Film Festival on in October 2012.
“Taboor” by director Vahid Vakilifar is about a man who seeks to protect his hypersensitive body from a daily rise in temperature caused by pervasive electromagnetic waves.
The movie received the First Special Mention at the 53rd Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Athens, Greece in November 2012
The French company DreamLab Films is the distributor of this film.
The 31st Fajr International Film Festival will be held in Tehran and ten other Iranian cities from January 31 to February 10.
