TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that he approves of showing “heroic flexibility” in dealing with other countries.
The Leader made the remarks during a meeting with a number of commanders, personnel, and veterans of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in Tehran on Tuesday.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that he endorses “wise” and “correct” measures in domestic and foreign policies, adding, “I agree with what I called a few years ago ‘heroic flexibility’ because this move is very good on some occasions and is necessary, but only with commitment to a main condition.”
The main condition is to thoroughly understand the “nature” of the other side and its objectives, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader said that the enemy has been hatching plots against the Islamic Republic since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Commenting on the long-running dispute over Iran’s nuclear program, he stated that Iran is not seeking to produce a nuclear weapon not because the United States does not approve of it but because the Islamic Republic itself is against it.
