TEHRAN - A delegation of economic and trade officials from Germany will travel to Iran in the coming days to explore ways to give a boost to bilateral ties.
Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines Chairman Gholamhossein Shafe’i made the statement in a visit with the German ambassador to Tehran, the Mehr News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Expansion of bilateral economic relations will lead to stable political ties between the two countries. So, conditions should be provided for ever more enhancement of Iran-Germany economic ties, he noted.
The official said that he has been invited by Germany’s chamber of commerce, based on which he will travel to Germany by the next two months.
Michael Freiherr von Ungern-Sternberg, the German ambassador to Tehran, for his part, stated that it is very unfortunate that Iran-Germany economic and trade ties have declined in the past years, and that Germans are unsatisfied with the fact.
In a meeting with Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani on October 7, 2013, Freiherr von Ungern said that his country attaches great importance to economic relations with Iran.
