Shahsavandi also broke his back, arm, leg, and pelvis in the resort in Alborz Mountains.

The 28-year-old skier was airlifted to Imam Khomeini Hospital in Tehran, then to the Pars Hospital.

In late December, Michael Schumacher suffered severe head trauma in a skiing accident in the French Alps. The seven-time Formula One champion is still in the process of waking up from an induced coma.
