TEHRAN - 15 organizations and ministries are tasked to fight air pollution, IRNA reported on Tuesday.
The plan, approved at a meeting of the cabinet on April 30, was declared for implementation by a working group committee tasked with following cabinet ratifications.
Saeed Motasedi, an official at the Environment Protection Organization, said the ministries of oil, energy, industries, health, interior, economy, transport, education, as well as the Environment Protection Organization, the Presidential Department for Scientific and Technical Affairs, the Iranian National Standards Organization, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), and Traffic Police are obliged to help to reduce air pollution.
Motasedi, the deputy director of the Environment Protection Organization, said all the executive bodies mentioned above are required to predict the necessary fund in their annual budgets for the implementation of the plan.
In each move to reduce air pollution the name of the body, the kind of activity, and the timetable for implementation of it has been clearly stated, Motasedi explained.
He also said from now on regular committee meetings will be held rotationally each month in each ministry or organization to assess the progress of the work.
