TEHRAN -- The award-winning Iranian movie “Fish and Cat” will compete in three international festivals.
Directed by Shahram Mokri, “Fish and Cat” tells the story of a group of university students who face various problems during their trip to northern Iran.
It will be screened during the 4th Lima Independent International Film Festival, which will be held in Peru from June 13 to 23.
The next is the 1st Bled Film Festival, which will be held in Slovenia from June 17 to July 2.
The 68th Edinburgh International Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held from June 18 to 29, will also screen the movie.
The film also is currently competing in the 61st Sydney Film Festival in Australia. The festival runs until June 15.
The film went on screen at the 13th Transylvania International Film Festival in Romania, the Sinemardin International Film Festival in Turkey and the First Iranian Film Festival in Cologne Germany in early June.
The film won the FIPRESCI Award and the Youth Jury Award at the 28th Fribourg International Film Festival in April 2014.
Mokri won the special jury prize for this film at the 10th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) in December 2013.
It also won the best film award at the 13th Lisbon and Estoril Film Festival in Portugal in November 2013.
The 70th Venice International Film Festival honored the film with the Special Orizzonti Award for Innovative Content in September 2013.
