TEHRAN – Veteran middle-blocker Alireza Nadi has been invited to the Iranian national volleyball team on Saturday.
The 2.00 meter player has won the gold medal of the 2011 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship in Tehran.
“I want to thank everyone who supported me. I am fit and well-prepared at the moment. Without a doubt I can help the Iranian volleyball team. I believe that the experienced players always can help and be effective,” Nadi said.
Iran prepares itself for the 2014 Volleyball World Championship, which will be held in Poland from 30 August to 21 September.
Iran is in Pool D along with Italy, the U.S., France, Belgium and a representative from North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation.
