TEHRAN – Iran volleyball coach Hossein Madani was laid to rest on Sunday.
President of the Iran’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) Kioomars Hashemi, the Iranian volleyball players and the country’s sports personalities participated in his funeral.
Madani was laid to rest at the Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery in Tehran.
The Iranian assistant coach died at the age of 43 on Friday due to lung disease.
He was diagnosed with a severe respiratory disease two weeks ago and could not travel to Florence, Italy along with Iran volleyball team.
Under tutelage of Madani, the Iranian volleyball team claimed the titles of the Asian Men's Cup Volleyball Championship in 2008 and 2010.
