Iranian international defender Mehrdad Pooladi, who has been linked with European clubs, has joined the Qatari side Al-Shahania.
He signed a one-year contract with the newly promoted club on Thursday, after completing a medical. The transfer fee is reportedly around $700,000.
Pooladi was a key player on the Iranian football team during the 2014 World Cup. The left-back made a combined 6.3 tackles and interceptions per game in Brazil, which put him with the leaders in the category.
He has 23 international caps and previously played for Persepolis, Mes, Tractor Sazi, Esteghlal, and Peykan in the Iran Professional League.
