TEHRAN –
The United States and its allies Germany, France, and Britain are responsible for the attempts to sabotage Iran’s nuclear facilities, an official of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said on Monday.

AEOI Deputy Director for Safety and Security Asghar Zare’an stated that the Iranian Intelligence Ministry has discovered and defused all the efforts to sabotage the software and hardware of key Iranian sites, “turning enemies’ hopes to despair,” IRNA reported.

He made the remarks in an address at a ceremony held to inaugurate the 1st Specialized Exhibition on the Campaign against Industrial Sabotage. AEOI Director Ali Akbar Salehi also attended the event, which was the held on the second day of Iran’s Government Week.

“Some countries are making efforts to slow the pace of Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities, Zare’an said.

And thus, they have put sabotaging Iran’s infrastructure on their agenda, he added.

“For instance, there is a laboratory in New Mexico in the United States, whose only task is sabotaging the nuclear industries of other countries. However, we have been able to bring a [total] end to such efforts, thanks to the guidelines of the AEIO director and the measures taken by the Intelligence Ministry.”

He added that the enemies’ plots to impede Iran’s progress are not only targeting its nuclear facilities but also seeking to vandalize its defense sector, communications facilities, and other important national centers.

The 1st Specialized Exhibition on the Campaign against Industrial Sabotage was inaugurated by the AEOI director and is scheduled to run for three months.
