TEHRAN – An Iranian Foreign Ministry official has said that the Iranian diplomat who was kidnapped in Sanaa is in good health and will soon return home.

The information received from Yemeni authorities confirm that Nour-Ahmad Nikbakht is in good health, said Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the ISNA news agency reported on Friday.

The Foreign Ministry has taken vigorous efforts to help secure the release of the diplomat since he was kidnapped in July 2013.

Nikbakht was travelling through the diplomatic quarter in southern Sanaa when gunmen blocked the road, forced him to get out of his vehicle and took him to an unknown location.
