TEHRAN – A former oil minister has been summoned to a court to answer allegations about sub-standard and low quality gasoline produced during his tenure under President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The oil minister’s name was not revealed.
Recently the Health Ministry, Department of Environment, and Majlis submitted their reports to the court about sub-standard fuel produced in petrochemical plants and subsequent air pollution.
Tehran is one of the smoggiest capitals in the world where some people lose their lives due to cancer, heart and respiratory diseases, and other pollution-related illnesses.
