KERMANSHAH – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has implemented about 13,000 projects for the eradication of poverty across Iran, according to a high-ranking IRGC commander.

Second Brigadier General Seyyed Ziauddin Hozni, the commander of the Ghorb Kowsar Base, said in Kermanshah on Wednesday that over 2000 kilometers of rural roads across Iran have been paved by the IRGC.

In addition to its military activities, the IRGC is active in the fields of construction through a number of its engineering firms, such as the Khatam al-Anbia Construction Base.

“More than 1700 mosques have been built by the IRGC in various parts of the country,” Hozni said.

Most of the construction projects implemented by the IRGC are meant to fight poverty in rural and remote areas of Iran that do not receive proper services.
