“One of the main objectives of provoking division among Muslims and promoting Iranophobia and Shiaphobia by the hegemonistic front… is to protect the usurping Zionist regime,” Ayatollah Khamenei said during a meeting with a number of Iranian officials and ambassadors of Muslim countries to Iran on Tuesday morning in Tehran held on the occasion of the Mab’ath of Prophet Muhammad (S).
“Today, the enemies have turned to an open confrontation with Islam, and their main tool is to provoke disagreements over religious beliefs and a war between Shia and Sunni (Muslims),” he said.
He also said that the Muslim people, especially intellectuals of the Islamic ummah, are expected to gain a proper understanding of the enemies’ front against Muslims.
Pointing to the measures to contain the Islamic Awakening in regional countries, Ayatollah Khamenei said although it seems that efforts meant to put down the Islamic Awakening have been successful in some countries, the fact is that the Islamic Awakening cannot be suppressed.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader lamented the fact that wrong interpretations are being put on Islam and the Holy Quran and said that today some people oppress and kill Muslims around the world and even abduct innocent girls in an African country in the name of Islam due to a lack of deep understanding of Islamic teachings.
He said that the most important needs of the Muslim world are to achieve unity and avoid division and acquire a real understanding of the enemies of Islam.
He added that if thoughtfulness becomes prevalent among Muslims, most of problems facing the Muslim world will be resolved.
