Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting on Monday with lawmakers representing West Azarbaijan Province in parliament.

Elsewhere in his remarks Rouhani said differences of opinion is a normal issue in a democratic system like Iran but his administration is determined to overcome problems through unity and solidarity.

The president also described the issue of Lake Urmia as the most important environmental problem facing the country.

Lake Urmia is the third largest salt water lake on earth whose water has dried up more than 70 percent over the past few years.

The lawmakers also said that their most important concern is Lake Urmia, and called on the administration to revive it.

Rouhani stated that actions have been taken in this respect.
