He made the remarks during a meeting with researchers of the Royan Institute in Tehran on Saturday.
Undoubtedly, the basis for development is “knowledge, research and technology,” Rouhani said.
He stated that a country should use others’ experiences to develop.
“We are not embarrassed to say that we gained or will gain experience from a European or Asian country, or send students to other countries to learn,” he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Rouhani said that the Royan Institute should not just be an institute for infertility, cloning, and stem cell technology, adding that the institute should become a “global brand” so that when the name Royan is inscribed on any goods, the people trust it.
The Royan Institute for Reproductive Biomedicine, Stem Cell Biology and Technology is a leading Iranian biomedical research center involved in stem cell technology and regenerative medicine.
The institute was established in 1991.
Rouhani also said if his government realizes that a research center plans to conduct a valuable project which is essential for the country, the government will provide abundant funding for it.
The Iranian president said his government started work on August 17, 2013 and since then decided to resolve some difficult crises which some experts believed were impossible to resolve.
He noted that university professors wrote a letter to him asking why his government announced that inflation would be reduced to below 25 percent by March 2014.
Rouhani also said a letter was sent to him warning him not to start the second stage of the subsidy reform plan, saying the government would face serious problems and would regret its actions.
In addition, some experts said the government would not be able to reform the healthcare system, he stated.
