The event was attended by 36 foreign and 210 domestic companies, IRNA reported on Monday.
Identifying investment opportunities and modern technologies in petrochemical industry, studying the trend of petrochemical development in Iran and Asia, and the private sector’s role in developing the petrochemical industry are some topics of the two-day event.
Over the past few years, Iran has significantly widened the range as well as volume of its petrochemical production. The country currently exports these products to over 60 countries, mainly to Central Asia, Africa, Southeast Asia and Far East countries.
In March, Iranian deputy oil minister Abdolhossein Bayat said the country’s petrochemical output is planned to hit 100 million tons by 2015.
