Mineral and industrial exports surged from $3 billion in calendar year 1383 (March 2004-March 2005) to $17.7 billion in calendar year 1391 (March 2012-March 2013), IRIB quoted him as saying.

Meanwhile, Vajihollah Jafari, another Iranian deputy industry minister said in April that exports of the country’s mineral industries grew by 38 percent year on year.

Jafari said that Iran’s cement exports touched 13.5 million tons in the one-year period, predicting that the inauguration of new projects will see national cement production capacity rise by 6.7 million tons by March 2014, IRNA reported.

Iran is among the 15 major mineral-rich countries of the world and exports its industrial and mineral products to 159 countries, including Iraq, China, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Afghanistan.
