Iran’s 4-month crude steel output grows 5%

c_330_235_16777215_0_http___www.tehrantimes.com_images_stories_famous_04_foolad.jpgTEHRAN - Iran produced 5.13 million tons of crude steel in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-July 22), up 5 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. 
 
The output hit 1.3 million tons in the fourth calendar month of Tir, according to the Mehr News Agency.
 
The country’s total output in the first half of 2013 amounted to 7.326 million tons, the World Steel Association said in its July report.
 
The country’s crude steel production reached 14.89 million tons in the previous Iranian calendar year.
 
Iran plans to increase its annual steel output to 55 million tons by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan (2015).
