TEHRAN - An exclusive exhibition of Iranian goods and food products will open in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan on September 17, ILNA reported.
Food products, including canned food, dairies, tea, jam, and edible oil, as well as detergents, construction materials, home appliance, clothing, computer software, cars, and machinery, will be on display during the 3-day event.
In July, Afghanistan's Ambassador to Tehran, Nasir Ahmad Noor, said that Iran and Afghanistan should boost their bilateral trade.
"Kabul currently imports over 5.5 billion dollars worth of goods from Iran," he said.
"Oil products account for 5.2 billion dollars of the mentioned amount," he noted.
"The two country's trade in the previous (Iranian calendar year which ended March 20) faced 15 percent increase compared to its preceding (Iranian calendar year)," he added.
"Currently 500 Iranian companies are active in Afghanistan's markets," Noor explained.
In June, the Afghan ambassador said that once the development plan of Iran's southwestern port city of Chabahar gets finished, the two countries bilateral trade will rise noticeably.
