Vaziri-Hamaneh served as oil minister for two years in President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s first administration.

He is considered one of the most-experienced managers in the Iranian oil industry. He served as deputy minister for planning and research when Zanganeh was oil minister under Mohammad Khatami administration.

Experts expect a reform in the Iranian oil industry now that Zanganeh has taken over the oil portfolio.
