|Iran’s 8-month cement output exceeds 50m tons||
TEHRAN - Iran produced 50.2 million tons of cement in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, up 2.2 percent year on year.
The output amounted to 5.65 million tons in the eighth calendar month of Aban (ended November 21), IRNA reported on Sunday.
Some 39.8 million tons of cement were supplied to the domestic market in the 8-month period.
The cement output is projected to reach 80 million tons by the end of the year, the secretary of Iranian cement industry employers Abdolreza Sheikhan has said.
Iran exported 9.673 million tons of cement and clinker in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year, up 41 percent year on year.
Last year, Iran exported 13.648 million tons of cement and clinker in the past Iranian calendar year. Iraq was the major importer of Iranian cement.
Iran plans to increase its cement output up to 85 million tons by the end of the next Iranian Calendar year.
