ANKARA - Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Ankara on Monday, and discussed ways to boost bilateral trade.
Zanganeh also met with Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, IRIB reported on Tuesday.
Zanganeh announced that the Turkish prime minister will visit Iran next week.
The two sides are hoped to sign a number of agreements during Mr. Erdogan’s trip to Tehran, Zanganeh added.
Iran and Turkey have set a long-term target of $100 billion for annual trade transactions, Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Umit Yardim said in December 2013.
He added that if the two countries set up a regional center of power together, they can further accelerate development.
