|Iran to almost triple commercial attachés overseas: official||
TEHRAN - Iran will triple the number of its commercial attachés in other countries, the Mehr News Agency quoted an official at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) as saying on Sunday.
The Iranian government has decided to increase the number of its commercial attachés overseas to 30 from 11, the TPOI director for marketing, Mir Aboutaleb Badri, stated.
Five out of the new attachés will be dispatched to Germany, Italy, Serbia, Spain and Switzerland in a bid to boost trade and economic relations with Europe, the official added.
Following the Geneva deal, several trade delegations from different countries have announced their readiness to establish and boost ties with Iran.
Iran and the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council - Russia, China, the U.S., France, Britain - plus Germany inked the nuclear accord in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013. The two sides started implementing the agreement on January 20.
Under the Geneva deal, the six countries undertook to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for the Islamic Republic agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities, including a voluntary suspension of its 20-percent uranium enrichment program.
