Polish companies ready to boost trade ties with Iran: envoy

TEHRAN – Polish companies are ready to expand trade ties with Iran, Polish Ambassador to Tehran Juliusz Jacek Gojlo said in Tehran on Saturday.
Poland’s leading trade companies have voiced readiness to broaden economic cooperation with Iran, the ambassador added.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Tehran’s Governor General Hossein Hashemi. 
In a meeting between Iranian deputy industry minister Behrouz Alishiri and his Polish counterpart in Tehran on March 3, the two sides called for boosting bilateral ties in different trade and investment fields, the Mehr News Agency reported on Monday.
Signing a comprehensive cooperation agreement can help the two countries expand relations in all fields, Alishiri said. 
Iran and Poland have signed an agreement to boost cooperation in the field of research, IRIB reported on Saturday.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski signed the agreement in Tehran.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Zarif said Iran is ready to expand economic ties with Poland, especially in food, medicine, and petrochemical industries.
Grounds are prepared for the presence of Polish companies in the Iranian market, Zarif added.
A comprehensive plan is being developed by the two sides to boost cooperation in educational, cultural, and scientific fields, he noted.
Poland will soon be sending a trade delegation to Iran, headed by the country’s deputy prime minister and comprising of 50 Polish business leaders.
