|Tehran to host 1st ECO Experts Meeting on Tax Administration||
TEHRAN - The first meeting of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on tax administration will be held from May 26 to 28 in Tehran.
The ECO Experts Meeting on Tax Administration is aimed to finalize three draft documents, namely, the proposed Charter of the ECO “Tax Administrations Cooperation Society” (ECOTAX), the proposed “Agreement on the Exchange of Information in Tax Matters among ECO Member States” and the “ECO Limited Multilateral Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters,” according to the official website of ECO.
The three draft documents to be finalized by the 1st Experts Meeting will be submitted to the 2nd Meeting of the “ECO Heads of Tax Administration”.
ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey for the purpose of promoting economic, technical, and cultural cooperation among the member states.
In 1992, the Organization was expanded to include seven new members, namely: Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Republic of Uzbekistan.
