|Khazaii appointed new head of OIETAI||
TEHRAN – Mohammad Khazaii, the former Iranian ambassador to the United Nations, has been appointed as the new head of the Organization for Investment, Economic, and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI).
In a decree on Saturday, Iranian Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ali Tayyebnia appointed Khazaii to the post, replacing Behrouz Alishiri.
Khazaii holds a master’s degree in international transactions from George Mason University in the United States. He has taught macroeconomics and philosophy at Tehran’s Allameh University.
Tayyebnia installed Alishiri as his new advisor.
OIETAI is legally empowered to represent the central investment promotion authority of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran by providing legal protection and full security to foreign investments by way of facilitating the flow of capital into the country.
According to United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), foreign direct investment flows to Iran marked $3,050,000,000 in 2013, while Iran’s FDI in other countries was $380 million, during the same year.
